地处粤北山区的清远市连南瑶族自治县，是全国唯一的排瑶聚居地。1951年，中央民族访问团到连南千年瑶寨采风，著名作曲家刘铁山根据广东粤北瑶族传统歌舞等素材创作了《瑶族长鼓舞》。1952年，作曲家茅沅将此曲改编为管弦乐曲《瑶族舞曲》。《瑶族舞曲》1953年在北京首演，获得热烈反响。1998年，该曲在维也纳金色大厅演奏。

新版《瑶族舞曲》MV以广东清远连南千年瑶寨为主要取景地，巧妙地将连南百里瑶山的秀丽风光与浓郁的瑶族风情融合在一起，通过独特且具有艺术感的拍摄视角，依次呈现出如梦似幻的云海日出、错落有致的百里梯田、传统的古排建筑等画面。该MV以“莎腰妹”和“阿贵哥”的感情故事为线索，展现了瑶寨丰富多样的民俗活动以及淳朴的民风。
